Users have the ability to link a class absence to a particular class assignment grade. This will save you time since once you mark a student absent, the appropriate grade will automatically be entered into your gradebook for the assignment due that day.
Where to Start
Go to the Settings tab and choose the Valid Grades option.
If you have already set up a Valid Grades Template, choose Edit Template to use this feature. If you do not have one set up, choose Create New Template (If you have never set up a Valid Grades Table, read this article for full details).
The grade with the Default Absent Value will be entered in the gradebook for you when you mark the student absent.
Once you have made any changes, remember to Save Changes and apply to the necessary courses.
